Digital transformation in the public sector

Over the past few years we digitised a government organisation from the inside — not with a report, but with a working platform that runs in production every day. That blend of strategic thinking and actually building is rare in the public sector, and exactly where we help organisations move forward.

Public sector

Why the public sector is different

Digitising in government is not a copy of the commercial world. You work with base registrations, strict regulation and privacy requirements, stubborn legacy systems, and a political-administrative context where buy-in matters as much as technology.

We know that field from the inside and know how to make real progress within it — without losing the diligence the public task demands.

  • Base registrations and the data chain
  • Regulation, privacy (GDPR) and information security
  • Legacy systems and the political-administrative context

What we do

We combine strategy with delivery: from a clear digitalisation vision to a working, data-driven platform in production. And we stay involved until it is embedded in the organisation.

  • Strategy & roadmap — aligned with your statutory task
  • Platform & product development — from design to production
  • Data quality & processes — reliable data processing
  • Change & adoption — taking teams into new ways of working
  • Interim leadership — bridging policy, operations and technology

Information security & governance

As an information advisor we set up the complete information security framework for a regional tax authority: policy, periodic audits and an annual board report presented during an information security day.

From BIO and ENSIA to NIS2 and GDPR — demonstrably in control, without losing the diligence the public task demands.

Procurement & Best Value

Digital projects stand or fall with the right supplier. We help you design tenders so you select on demonstrable expertise and value — not on the lowest price. With the Best Value approach you put the supplier in the lead as an expert, with clear phases from preparation to execution.

From sharpening your request to supplier selection and an independent second opinion: this prevents costly missteps and vendor lock-in — including when procuring AI and digital solutions.

  • Best Value procurement from A to Z
  • A sharp request and objective supplier selection
  • Independent second opinion on bids and plans

In practice: a regional tax authority

For a regional tax authority in Zeeland we led the development of a data-processing platform: reliably automating updates from national base registrations, with data quality driving the entire assessment and levy process.

The result: less manual work, higher data quality and a scalable foundation for the years ahead.

WOZ dashboards with the Waarderingskamer

In close collaboration with the Waarderingskamer (the Dutch authority overseeing property valuation) we developed several WOZ dashboards, focused on managing and monitoring objection-handling processes. This gives organisations a grip on lead times, workload and quality — and lets them adjust in time.

It shows how we translate data-driven insight into workable steering in public sector practice.

  • Monitoring of objection handling: lead time, workload and quality
  • Steering information for management and the board

What AI is now changing for government

Generative and agentic AI enable new services: from smarter handling of applications to unlocking knowledge for staff and citizens. At the same time the public sector demands extra care — transparency, explainability, human oversight and demonstrable data quality.

The EU AI Act classifies many government applications as high-risk, with requirements for documentation, oversight and governance. We help you deploy AI responsibly: seizing opportunities where they add real value, with the safeguards public trust requires.

  • AI for service delivery and internal knowledge access
  • Transparency, explainability and human oversight
  • EU AI Act: high-risk requirements and governance in order

Who it is for

Municipalities, tax authorities, water boards and public service organisations that want to digitise their services and processes — and need someone who can handle both the strategy and the execution.
